Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan are the ‘It' couple of Bollywood. They got married in April 2007. The two welcomed Aardhya in November 2011.
Now, an old video of Jaya Bachchan is making the rounds online. The clip features the veteran actress welcoming Aishwarya to the Bachchan family ahead of her wedding with Abhishek.
The video is from the 2007 Filmfare Awards when Jaya Bachchan came onstage to accept her Lifetime Achievement Award.
Months before Aishwarya and Abhishek's wedding, the actress said, “Today I'm going to be a mother-in-law all over again to a wonderful lovely girl, who has great values, has a great dignity and a lovely smile. I welcome you to the family. Love you.”
She added, "I thought this would be the right time to accept this award. I'd like to say, Almighty, whoever he or she, hum ko man ki shakti dena, man vijay kare. Jhooth se door rahe aur sach ka man bharein. (Give us the strength of mind so that the mind can win. Stay away from lies and fill the mind with truth). Thank you so much.”
Seated in the audience, a visibly emotional Aishwarya couldn't hold back tears at her soon-to-be mother-in-law's sincere expression of love, acceptance, and trust. This wonderful moment recently resurfaced on social media and is now going viral once again for all the right reasons.
This was not the only time that Jaya Bachchan had praised her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan, when she was asked if Aishwarya was the perfect fit for the family, the actress said, “I think so. I think its wonderful because she is such a big star herself. But when we all are together, I have never ever seen her push herself, I like that quality that she stands behind, she's quiet, she listens and she's taking it all in," quoted Firstpost.
She added, "Another beautiful thing is she's fitted in so well. Not just into the family, but she knows that this is family, these are good friends, this is how one is supposed to be. I think she's a strong lady, she has a lot of dignity."
On the work front, Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. Aishwarya Rai made her last silver screen appearance in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: II.
Jaat, headlined by Sunny Deol, opened in the theatres on April 10. The film, directed by Gopichand Malineni, witnessed a massive boost in its earnings on its first Sunday.
On Day 13, Jaat minted a whooping ₹ 14 crore at the box office, as per a report by industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the movie's total collection stands at ₹ 40.25. Jaat "had an overall 26.23 percent occupancy" rate in the Hindi market on April 13, the report added.
The morning shows clocked in at 11.67 percent and the afternoon shows stood at 30.93 percent. Meanwhile, the evening screenings peaked at 33.93 percent while the night shows recorded 28.40 percent.
Jaat is set against the backdrop of a remote coastal village in Andhra Pradesh. A ruthless criminal, Varadaraja Ranatunga (Randeep Hooda's character), rules the place with the people living in fear. Things take a turn for the better when a stranger, Jaat (played by Sunny Deol), decides to take matters into his own hands. Jaat is on a mission to restore peace and order in the village.
Jaat also features Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Zarina Wahab, Prashant Bajaj and Vineet Kumar Singh in crucial roles. The action thriller is jointly produced by Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, Naveen Yerneni, Umesh Kumar Bansal and T. G. Vishwa Prasad under the banners of People Media Factory, Zee Studios and Mythri Movie Makers.
Last month at Jaat's trailer launch event, Sunny Deol heaped praise on the film's producers. “My producers are so good. I want producers of Bombay to learn (from them). You all call it Bollywood, but first refer to it as Hindi cinema, and learn how to make cinema with love (from South filmmakers). They focus and enjoy the subject, rope in the director, show trust in his vision, and leave no stone unturned in achieving that. The story is the hero (for them). I thoroughly enjoyed working with all of them," he told the reporters. Read all about it here.
Aamir Khan made headlines after stepping out for the first time with his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, in China. The couple made their debut appearance together at the Macau International Comedy Festival in China on Saturday.
Aamir arrived at the event hand-in-hand with Gauri, just weeks after introducing her to the Indian media on his 60th birthday.
Dressed in elegant traditional outfits, the duo turned heads at the festival. Aamir wore a classic black kurta-pyjama set, accessorised with a richly embroidered shawl, while Gauri sported a floral white saree.
Throughout the evening, Aamir kept Gauri close, and the couple happily posed for the Chinese paparazzi. They were joined by popular Chinese actors Shen Teng and Ma Li, with Aamir warmly introducing Gauri to them and other guests. A heartwarming highlight came when the four of them posed playfully, making heart shapes with their hands for the cameras.

The public outing comes shortly after Aamir confirmed his relationship with Gauri during his birthday celebration on March 14. In a candid chat with the media, he said, "I thought it would be a nice occasion for you all to meet her, besides we won't have to keep hiding... She is from Bangalore, and we knew each other for 25 years. But we connected a year and a half ago. She happened to be in Mumbai and we met accidentally, we kept in touch, and then it all happened organically."
Aamir also shared that he and Gauri have been living together for the past year.
In a shocking turn of events, singer Sonu Kakkar left fans stunned after she posted — and then deleted — an emotional message declaring that she is “no longer a sister” to her siblings, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar.
The now-deleted post, shared on both X and Instagram on Saturday, read: “Deeply devastated to inform you all that I am no longer a SISTER to the two talented Superstars, Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar. This decision of mine comes from a place of deep emotional pain, and I am truly disheartened today”
No clarification or follow-up statement has been released from Sonu Kakkar as of now, but the sudden announcement – and its removal shortly after – has left fans confused and concerned. Even Neha and Tony Kakkar have stayed silent on their sister's statement so far.
While there seems to be a rift between the Kakkar sibling trio right now, they have often stood by each other and spoken with love on public platforms in the past.
Sonu, Neha and Tony Kakkar have even mesmerized fans with their collaborations. Remember Story of Kakkars? That emotional rap track beautifully captured their journey. They also teamed up for the peppy number Ooh La La from the film Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.
In other news, last month, Neha Kakkar found herself in the spotlight — and not for the usual reasons. Last month, during a live concert in Melbourne, the singer reportedly showed up three hours late, which did not go unnoticed by the crowd.
A video from the event surfaced on Reddit, showing Neha getting emotional on stage and thanking the audience for their patience. She broke down mid-speech, clearly overwhelmed by the moment.
While some fans appreciated her vulnerability, the internet had mixed reactions. In fact, you can even hear some people in the live audience teasing her during the emotional moment. The clip quickly went viral, sparking a debate online about celebrity punctuality, professionalism and the pressure of performing live. Click here to read the full story.
Alia Bhatt marked Pet Day with a heartfelt post featuring her pet cat Edward. On Friday, the actress shared a photo on Instagram where she's seen holding her white Persian cat in her arms.
The picture, which appears to have been taken at home, was captioned, "A picture with my prince, clicked by my princess #HappyPetDay."
The image quickly drew attention on social media, with fans leaving affectionate comments. One user wrote, "cutest pic ever," while another added, "Raha's tiny hands holding the camera, but oh-so-big love in a click. Mama's little fan is already her sweetest photographer!"
Alia, who owns two cats - Edward and Juniper - reportedly received Edward as a birthday gift from her ex-boyfriend and actor Sidharth Malhotra. Juniper joined the family during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Alpha, co-starring Sharvari. She has also collaborated with acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love & War. The film features Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in key roles. The film is expected to hit the silver screens on March 20, 2026.
Alia Bhatt previously worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, joined forces with the ace director for his debut movie, Saawariya.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal shared screen space in the 2018 film Sanju - a biopic based on the life of Sanjay Dutt. Alia Bhatt and Vicky were seen together in Meghna Gulzar's Raazi the same year.
Salman Khan's Sikandar continues to roar at the box office. On day 13, the film earned Rs 35 lakh, reported Sacnilk. With this, the total collection of the film stands at Rs 108.15 crore.
Salman Khan's Sikandar, which was released on the occasion of Eid, March 30, also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. The film has been facing tough competition from Sunny Deol's Jaat at the box office.
The action-thriller, directed by AR Murugadoss, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar.
The film received mixed reviews, with Salman's fans rooting for his intense action scenes and charisma. However, a section of viewers were of the opinion that the film had a weak plot. A few others even raised eyebrows at the superstar's huge age gap with his co-star Rashmika Mandanna in the movie.
Earlier, at the trailer launch event of the movie, Salman Khan had addressed the issue.
"Phir vo bolte hain 31 years ka difference hai heroine aur mujh mein, arre jab heroine ko problem nahi hai, heroine ke papa ko dikkat nahi hai, tumko kyun dikkat hai bhai? Inki shadi hogi, bachchi hongi, toh unke sath bhi kaam karenge. Mummy ki permission toh mil hi jayega [Then they say there's a 31-year age gap between me and the heroine. But if the heroine has no problem, and even her father has no issue, why do you have a problem, brother? When she gets married and has a daughter, I will work with her daughter too. Her mother's permission will be sorted],” he said.
Filmmaker and author Tahira Kashyap, who recently revealed that her breast cancer has relapsed, has now opened up about her ongoing treatment journey from her recent hospital visit.
On Friday, she took to Instagram to recount her experience before and after a medical procedure. As she prepared for her scanning and imaging session, Tahira revealed that her doctor attempted to lighten the mood by playing a Bollywood classic - though the song choice caught her off guard.
"As I entered the scanning and imaging area, the doc there perhaps in his attempt to make the mood lighter had his playlist on. This was the song that was playing as I lay down ready to be taken inside! I gulped and said, 'Sir I appreciate your gesture but pls isse toh band hi kardo!'"
Despite the slightly awkward start, Tahira found humour and inspiration in another moment that day. While walking the hospital corridor post-procedure, she overheard a light-hearted exchange that brought a smile to her face.
"Hours after the surgery the doc asked me to take few rounds around the corridor. Little did I know that I would be privy to other patients choice of consuming news. This 70-year-old lady with her room's door ajar was keenly listening to an actor's love life and the disclosure of his recent relationship. Few minutes later I saw her stumbling out of her room racing ahead of me. I can swear I heard her saying agar yeh itna dangal macha sakten hain toh main kyon nahi!' I always knew the power of cinema both on and off the screen!"

Tahira had earlier shared on April 7 that she was preparing to face cancer again.
She wrote, "Seven-year itch or the power of regular screening--it's a perspective I'd like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me... I still got this."
Tahira was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.
Married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana, Tahira is also a mother to two children - a son and a daughter.
Amid swirling speculations around Krrish 4, Hrithik Roshan has added more fuel to the fire by posting a photo from his meeting with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
The picture, taken during their visit to Nick's Broadway musical The Last Five Years, also features Hrithik's girlfriend Saba Azad and Nick's co-star Adrienne Warren. All five are seen flashing wide smiles in coordinated black outfits.
The caption read, "We went in thinking it'll be a fun night out with friends and came out mind blown and inspired like never before. The @thelastfiveyears is an unmissable experience! @nickjonas you are simply incredible. What a performance. @adriennelwarren you are fabulous. Such an amazing show. Thank you @priyankachopra for an amazing night of theatre, music, fun and food."
Both Priyanka and Hrithik attended Nick Jonas' Broadway show on Wednesday, and during a meet-and-greet the next day, the latter commented, "Last night, I was with Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. We were watching his Broadway show, which is, by the way, brilliant. He was absolutely amazing. It's called The Last Five Years. If you haven't seen it, you must see it."
While the real reason for their gathering remains under wraps, fans are speculating whether this could hint at Priyanka's possible return in the next chapter of the Krrish saga.
Hrithik is set to make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, taking over the reins from his father Rakesh Roshan, who helmed the previous three films - Koi Mil Gaya (2003), Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013). Since the announcement, fans have been eagerly discussing which characters from the earlier installments might make a comeback.
Priyanka and Hrithik, who shared screen space in Krrish and Krrish 3, were a much-loved on-screen pair. The 2006 installment introduced Hrithik's character Krishna as the son of Rohit Mehra from Koi Mil Gaya.
Jaat finally hit cinema screens on April 10. Headlined by Sunny Deol, the movie made a strong impact at the box office on its opening day. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the action thriller collected ₹9.5 crore on Day 1, according to Sacnilk. The film recorded an overall 14.28% Hindi occupancy on Thursday. However, the film couldn't beat the opening day collection of Salman Khan's Sikandar. The film, which is struggling at the box office, raked in Rs 26 crore on day one.
Jaat features Sunny Deol as Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh and Randeep Hooda as Ranatunga.
Ahead of the film's release, Randeep Hooda shared that he has always been a huge fan of Sunny Deol.
The actor shared, "I still remember that we used to have his posters in our cupboards stuck with toothpaste during school days and get inspired."
"I have always been a huge fan of Sunny Deol. Growing up, we admired his powerful screen presence, his intensity, and his physique. I still remember us having his posters in our school hostel cupboards, looking at them and getting inspired to lift weights and doing push ups," Randeep Hooda added.
In an NDTV review, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave Jaat 2 out of 5 stars.
He wrote, “Jaat is much ado about a couple of uneaten idlis and an upset man in quest of an apology until bigger issues - the discovery of thorium in coastal Andhra Pradesh, the displacement of villagers who have lived there for centuries, and the corruption of politicians and policemen all too willing to play into the hands of international conspirators.” Click here to read the full review.
Jaat also features Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Ramya Krishnan and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles.
The film has been jointly produced by Naveen Yerneni, Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar, T. G. Vishwa Prasad and Umesh Kumar Bansal under the banners of Mythri Movie Makers, People Media Factory and Zee Studios.

Meanwhile, Homebound is written and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and stars Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra. The co-producers include Marijke de Souza and Melita Toscan Du Plantier.

Charu Asopa, who was earlier married to Sushmita Sen's brother Rajeev Sen, has left Mumbai and shifted to her hometown Bikaner, Rajasthan due to financial crunch. Recently, a video surfaced in which Charu can be seen selling salwar kameez. While her fans wished good luck for her new endeavour, a large section of the Internet was intrigued to know what made her sell clothes online.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Charu Asopa talked about why she left Mumbai and how her ex-husband Rajeev Sen reacted to her new plans.
"I have shifted to my hometown Bikaner, Rajasthan. I have left Mumbai for now, and I am currently living with my parents. It's been more than a month since Ziana and I moved here," Charu confirmed to the publication.
"Living in Mumbai is not easy; it costs money. For me, the monthly living cost came up to ₹1 lakh -1.5 lakh, including the rent and everything, which was not easy. Furthermore, I would rather not leave Ziana alone with a nanny when I am shooting in Naigaon (Mumbai). It used to get extremely difficult. Moving back home and starting my own thing was completely planned; it wasn't a rushed decision," Charu reasoned why she left Mumbai.
Asked about the trolls who commented on her financial condition, Charu replied, "When you start something new, everyone struggles. What's different in my case? I am doing everything on my own, from taking orders to sending packages to getting stock. When I came to Mumbai for acting that wasn't easy too. I struggled to build a name for myself and I managed. Now, I have started this business, so that I can focus on my child, and I don't think that's wrong."
"I plan to buy a house here in Bikaner. In the meantime, Ziana and I are staying with my parents. Tomorrow, I am going back to Mumbai to get all my belongings," Charu told The Hindustan Times.
Asked about how her ex-husband Rajeev reacted to her shifting to Bikaner, she said, "He can always come visit his daughter in Bikaner. Before leaving Mumbai, I dropped a text informing him about my plans."
Charu married Rajeev Sen in 2019. Their marriage hit a rough patch and ended in a divorce. During their separation process, they had several public fights. They share a daughter Ziana, whom they continue to co-parent.

Salman Khan's latest offering, Sikandar, opened in the theatres on March 30. The AR Murugadoss film, which also features Rashmika Mandanna in a key role, hasn't been able to perform well at the box office.
On Day 11 (April 9), Sikandar earned ₹1.35 crore at the ticket window, reported Sacnilk. With this, the movie's total box office collection now stands at ₹ 107.10 crore. Sikandar witnessed an occupancy rate of 7.15% in the Hindi market, added the report.
Previously, Salman Khan opened up about the lack of support he receives from the film fraternity for his movies. The superstar revealed that although his colleagues think he does not need support, in reality, his projects also need backing.
Salman Khan admitted to promoting the films of his friends and colleagues. The actor, in a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, said, “Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. (Maybe they think that I do not need their support.). But, sabko zaroorat padti hai. (Everybody needs support, including me)."
At Sikandar's trailer launch, Salman Khan addressed his age gap with Rashmika Mandanna. The actress is 31 years younger to him.
Salman Khan shared, “They say there is a 31-year difference between the heroine and me. If the heroine does not have any problem or the heroine's father does not have any problem, then why do you have a problem?"
Adding a hilarious twist to his statement, Salman Khan added, And when she (Rashmika) gets married and has a daughter and then she becomes a big star, then also we will work (together). We will get the mother (Rashmika)'s permission for sure.”
Ameesha Patel also supported Salman Khan. She cited her own age difference with Gadar co-star Sunny Deol. Read all about it here.
Sikandar follows the story of Sanjay Rajkot aka Sikandar, who fights corruption and stands for the people. Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife Saisri.

Sikandar is backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Late actor Om Puri's first wife Seema Kapoor (sister of actor Annu Kapoor) opened up about her troubled marriage, Om Puri's infidelity in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Seema Kapoor revealed the film veteran cheated on her when she was pregnant. After she lost the child, Om Puri sent her Rs 25000 via secretary which she refused to accept. Despite the cracks in the marriage, Seema didn't want to divorce Om Puri but things went beyond her control.
During the interview, Seema Kapoor shared Om Puri met Nandita Puri (a journalist) while working on City of Joy. Many of her close friends knew about their affair but they kept her in the dark.
"Everything was going fine after our marriage, but that movie turned my life upside down... My good friend Renu Saluja, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's first wife, knew about the affair. But she and Sudhir Mishra and everyone else chalked it down to a phase. They felt that he'd get back to normal after the film. I found out about the affair much later, when I was in Delhi. He called me up and told me that he was seeing someone else, and my friends said that he was just seeking attention," reminsced Seema Kapoor.
Things were not the way they were portrayed in front of her and Seema Kapoor could sense that from Om Puri's voice. He was serious about wanting a divorce while Seema wanted to save the marriage as she was pregnant back then.
"I returned to Mumbai, and everything felt normal. He left the city for a shoot soon afterwards, and while sifting through his stuff, I discovered love letters. I was shattered. I never wanted to divorce him, despite the affair. I wanted to mend things, because I was pregnant. He knew I was pregnant, but this was a source of insecurity for Nandita. She'd call him up in front of me," she said.
Seema Kapoor couldn't bear the emotional torture and decided to leave his house. She was three-month pregnant then: "But things became overwhelming; Puri sahab would drink too much, and Nandita would make a scene. One night, I decided to leave. I was three months pregnant."
Things reached at a state when Annu Kapoor wanted to drag Om Puri to court. Seema Kapoor got Rs 6 lakh as alimony but refused the Rs 25,000 the actor sent after their child died.
"Forget consoling me. He sent Rs 25,000 via his secretary. I turned it down, and his secretary told me, 'This ego is what is destroying you'. But what he thought was ego was just self-respect," recalled Seema Kapoor.
In 1993, Om Puri married journalist Nandita Puri and they had a son named Ishaan. Om Puri died in 2017. During his final years, he called up Seema Kapoor and apologised.
Sunny Deol has responded to Pakistani artiste Fawad Khan's comeback to the Hindi film industry with Abir Gulaal in a conversation with HT City. Sunny Deol said he doesn't mind Pakistani actors getting work in India.
Known for his cross-border patriotic films like Border and Gadar, Sunny Deol was asked by HT City if he supports Fawad Khan's return to Bollywood, which raised eyebrows once again after the teaser of his film Abir Gulaal released. Abir Gulaal is slated for a theatrical release on May 9.
"See, I wouldn't like to go on to the political side because that's where things start getting messy. We are actors; we work for everyone all over the world. Even if somebody is watching or not, we are for everyone. So, aisi koi baat nahi hain (nothing like that). The more the way the world has become, we should stay global and let there be more countries; that's the way it should be," said Sunny Deol.
Sunny Deol's statement comes after Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) said it would oppose the release of Abir Gulaal featuring Fawad Khan on April 2.
Directed by Aarti S Bagdi (Chalti Rahe Zindagi), the film is produced by Indian Stories, along with A Richer Lens and Aarjay Pictures. Fawad Khan has been paired opposite Vaani Kapoor in the film.
In 2016, an unofficial ban on Pakistani artistes in India took place, prompted by political disputes. In 2023, the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition to officially ban them. However, the tension regarding Pakistani actors working in India refuses to die.
Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat (2014) alongside Sonam Kapoor. He acted in a prominent role in Shakun Batra's Kapoor & Sons (2016). He also made a cameo appearance in Karan Johar's directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil the same year.
Meanwhile, Sunny Deol's Jaat is releasing in theatres today.
